Rotary International

Rotary's legacy of compassion: Leaving footprints of impact on humanity.

Rotary International is a global humanitarian service organization with a mission to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, promote high ethical standards in all vocations, and advance goodwill and peace worldwide. Here are some key points about Rotary International: Rotary International focuses on seven main areas of service, known as the "Areas of Focus." These areas include promoting peace and conflict resolution, providing clean water and sanitation, supporting maternal and child health, improving basic education and literacy, promoting economic and community development, and fighting disease (including the global eradication of polio).protecting environment Rotary International has been at the forefront of the global effort to eradicate polio. In 1985, Rotary launched its Polio Plus program, aiming to immunize children against polio worldwide. Through partnerships with organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, Rotary has made giant/significant progress in reducing polio cases globally. The Rotary Foundation is the charitable arm of Rotary International. It supports Rotary's humanitarian efforts by providing grants and funding for projects and initiatives. The Foundation also offers scholarships, vocational training, and exchange programs. Rotary International provides a platform for networking, professional development, and fellowship among its members. Rotarians have opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals, attend conferences and events, and build international friendships. The Four-Way Test is a guiding principle of Rotary International. It is a set of ethical guidelines Rotarians are encouraged to apply to their personal and professional lives. Rotary International continues to play a vital role in addressing global challenges and making a positive impact on communities around the world. The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.

INNOVATIONS

Dist. Resource Trainers

Every year District leadership organizes training programs for select Rotarians covering 20% of the total Rotarians of the District. This means Dist is unable to reach remaining 80% of the Rotarians for training and thus Rotary knowledge probably does not reach each and every Rotarian. District leadership has evolved a solution to reach every Rotarian in the district and update all with the latest guidelines.

The Solution: Dist leadership has identified senior & well informed Rotarians who have served district in the capacity of Asst. Governor in the past. These Rotarians are designated with title as Dist. Resource trainers. They will work closely with Asst. Governors of each Region, Club Trainers and Rotary clubs leaders, to deliver training sessions. We understand that training can be sometime monotonous ad therefore, we have developed very innovative and creative methodologies to disseminate the Rotary information. We have designed interesting quizzes and Tambola / Housie games on rotary information whereby club members can know about Rotary while playing these games. Similarly, we have designed our childhood games such as Snake & Ladder, Business etc in such a way that you get the information while playing them. The DRTs will foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and personal growth within the district.

The primary purpose of DRTs is to provide expertise and support in various areas of Rotary, ensuring that club members have access to resources and knowledge to enhance their Rotary experience.

Through the dedication and contributions of the District Resource Trainers, District 3131 nurtures a culture of lifelong learning leading to most informed membership.

CLUB REVIEW MEETINGS (CRM)

CRM- A Multipurpose platform

Club Review Meetings (CRM) are going to be a special feature of RY 2023-24 in RID 3131.

The CRM network is very complex and has been painstakingly designed by Team CRM under the guidance of DG Manjoo.

Here is the A to Z of CRM.

A stands for the THREE avenue groups. Around 30 avenues out of the 40+ avenues that our district works in require year-long activities have been selected.

The avenue-wise groups are:

Avenue Group A: All service project avenues

Avenue Groups B: TRF, Global Grant, CSR, Synergy; Youth, RYE, NGSE and International Service.

Avenue Group C: Membership, DEI, PI, Club Admin, Website and all district thrust areas for RY 2023-24.

Z stands for the four zone-wise groups. The six zones of the District have been divided into four groups keeping in mind their geographical location and language preference.

The four Zone Groups are i) Zone 1, ii) Zone 2, iii) Zones 3 and 5, iv) Zones 4 and 6.

The intermediate factors are D (discussion), I (intercation),  M (motivation), P (problem-solving), T (suitable time), V (convenient location) etc.

The first cycle of CRMs was completed successfully between May 21 and June 18, 2023. In these four weeks a total of 12 CRMs were conducted covering all As and Zs at almost eight different locations. Each CRM was efficiently coordinated by three AGes and were generously sponsored by PEs of three clubs from respective zones.

Club presidents, directors, chairpersons for RY 23-24 enthusiastically attended the CRMs because there was no registration fee, it was only for three and a half hours on Sunday, it had a very well chalked out and superbly executed agenda, and super-charged district team eager to help clubs excel in all avenues.

The May-June cycle concentrated on planning of the year to come, but the upcoming three cycles (August-October, November-January and February- April) of CRM will also see recognition of the good work that clubs will put in and discussion of and solutions to problems, if any.

CRMs will not only help clubs undertake and complete good projects in all avenues, they will also foster better synergy among clubs as even club directors will get the opportunity to interact with their counterparts from other clubs. It will work as an effective leadership-development toll both for chairmen and members of district avenu teams and club directors. The AGs will also get to play an active role on a wider canvas than the clubs in the region assigned to them. Clubs will get the credit and points in CPI by sponsoring a district event.

Appeal to all presidents to encourage club directors and avenue chairmen to attend CRMs regularly.
