| Minutes of Meeting | Ms. Anindita Chaudhuri, founder Eco serve was the speaker for our Thursday physical meeting held on Oct 7th, 2021. The speaker was introduced by Ann Dr. Mrs. Deepika Chadda. Anindita is a core member of WICCI Maharashtra manufacturing Council, an author, an educationist, a green auditor to many schools and Corporates and she is on a mission to make the earth a green and plastic free planet. She was also honoured with the Woman of Substance Award 2020 and Entrepreneur Excel award 2021 as the best Social Entrepreneur 2021. Key takeaways from Anindita's talk: - Global warming has reached an alarming proportion. Two main contributors of global warming are C02 emission and waste generation. Only 11 years are left to prevent the world from an irreversible climate change - Replace plastic and carcinogens with our non-toxic range of bio degradable alternatives. Replace these with natural and handmade artefacts from Grass (Sabaii and Kauna), Bamboo and Water Hyacinth are made by tribal women. - Planting trees and encouraging kids and young to take part in river cleaning - Investing in renewable form of energy - Minimising water wastage - Some of the innovative products of Eco serve are Wheat toothbrush, Cloth Sanitary pads, ecofriendly Areca/Betelnut /Sugarcane bagasse disposables tableware, Coconut Scrubber, Natural grass storage Items, to name a few - Have a zero-waste kit in all vehicles. Use cloth napkin, cloth bag, carry your own bottle - Refuse handouts that you don’t need, always as for paperless billing - Look for the Energy Star Label, it may cost a bit more initially, but the energy savings will pay back the extra investment over time Vote of thanks was given by Anil Chadda with a request to members to do their best personal effort in implementing the above-mentioned ideas in our day to day lives. |
