Rotary 3131 - Project Details

10-08-2020 - 23-08-2020

Project DIGITAL GURUMANTRA was initially run very successfully as a Pilot Project under the Stewardship of Rtn Swati Herkal, DLCC, Rotary District 3132, and the Literacy Team of our own Rotary District 3131. The participants were added to either of 2 Whats App Groups created for the purpose. Rtn Rammohan B Alurkar, CLCC RCP Phoenix, was the Admin of these two Whats App groups, along with Rtn Sunita Shirguppi, RCP Laxmi Road, the Designated Coordinator representing the DLCC. Starting 10th August 2020 thru 14th August 2020 (a total of 5 days), 3 videos every day were sent to these Whats App groups, where the participants (mostly school teachers, but also some non-school / tuition teachers) could access these videos, in their own convenient time, any time during the day. An Online Test was conducted between 18th August 2020 and midnight of 20th August 2020 (the deadline ultimately extended to 23rd August 2020); In the Whats App group(s) for our very own RCP Phoenix, there were a total of 72 participants, comprising of 3 Rotarians and 69 teachers, and the participating teachers hailed from Nandurbar, Kolhapur, Pune, Mumbai, Thane and Nasik in Maharashtra, in addition from Chennai, Bangalore, Vishakhapatnam, Nalgonda and even from Dubai and Sharjah in the UAE. Overall, the “Project DIGITAL GURUMANTRA” getting credit under both the Service Project and the Public Image avenues, it can surely add a feather in the cap for RCP Phoenix, due to its low costs involved, and the very wide impact created.
