| Minutes of Meeting | Shrimati Sandhya Chougule was chief guest and speaker for the first meeting of SHukrangan, an alliance of Rotary clubs that meet on Friday in DIst 3131. The first meeting was phenomenal success with more than 150 rotarians and guests attending it. Sandhymam kept audience glued to chairs with pin drop silence as she spoke about her life journey and terrific work she has done for the society. A true social activist, she has made many villages go for constructing toilets, she got advasi women into main stream by giving them small businesss. She has built a library for children from slums and helps them to get to schools each year. She faced lot of opposition yet she stayed firm and using her own money kept working for people around her rural village. Sandhyatai was given a standing ovation as she finished. She invited all rotarians to visit forest that she has created with her own hands in Satara, named Hirwai (greenary). |
