Namita Naik welcomed all the members of the Board for the Eight BOD meeting. of the year She shared the various activities and programme carried out in the month of January. • She focussed on the projects and projects submitted by our club during the Goal setting. Rtn Asmita to compile a list of pending Goals in each Avenue so we can complete them. • She appreciated the efforts of Rtn Vivek, Rtn Vaihali,and Rtn Nitin for the hard work and planning in the success of the SERA- VERA Awards program • Secretary Rtn. Rtn Prasad and Rtn Chitratai have donated 100 USD for the Foundation • Director Vocational Service: Rtn Rupali Bajaj. Director Rupali informed that the SERA VERA awards program was conducted and appreciated by all. We are planning teacher training in March. We are planning driver checkup in March. • Director Special Projects: Rtn Nitin Naik Rtn Nitin said that we have placed the order for the dialysis machine. Also, we are planning to give water ATM at Bhopal. • Finance Committee: Director Rtn Abhay Bhise Director Rtn Abhay Bhise was Absent. • Treasurer: Rtn Uday Thatte. | Minutes of Meeting | Rtn Rajendrakumar V Saraf said that Upcycle means to recycle or reuse something in a way that increases the original object’s value by transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived to be of greater quality, such as artistic, commercial or environmental value. It reform & refurnish the waste for another usage. It seems similar to Recycle or Down cycle. However it is most beneficial for the planet. It minimizes the consumption of Natural Resources for making goods & saves original products going to landfill. Indirectly it results in the reduction of Carbon and water footprint. Upcycling is a part of conservative upcycling that transforms old materials into a new, different, high-quality item. For example, a used Car Tyre is upcycle to make Swing. Upcycling also supports a circular economy by reusing multiple times rather than getting discarded after one use. In India yesterday’s cooked rice became fried rice - a yummy dish for breakfast. Making Godhadi (blanket) from Sari is a well-established business activity in Maharashtra State of India. Upcycling involves creativity coupled with scientific attitude. It converts waste into value added products to save resources. Participants can do Upcycling activities to earn money, save resources & protect the environment. The participants will be introduced with Upcycling Principles along with practical demonstration to implement Upcycling. Benefits of Workshop are 1. Participants will understand the importance of Upcycling 2. They will be able to do Upcycling on their Own.3. Make them leaders in sustainable Living. 4. They will become Environment Steward to save resources & protect the environment. 5. Participants can do Upcycling activities to earn money. He said that as an environmental engineer conducted 11 workshops for the Youth. More than 2000 youth benefited from the workshop. Some of them are earning money by selling Upcycle Products.
