Minutes of Meeting | President NPS Bakshi welcomed all present in the auditorium and AG Rajesh Jain introduced the Guest of Honour DG Manjoo Phadke. She addressed the august audience by speaking about the concept, scope and spirit of ‘Rotary’. This was followed by a speech given by the Chief Guest Maj Gen Bhupesh K. Goyal ,VSM. , Commandant, CH (SC) Pune. A citation was read and a trophy too was presented to him by the Rotary Club of Poona. The entertainment program was varied and began with a welcome dance by Ann. Shirisha Motado - "Ganesh Vandana". The winning team of the patriotic song competition Don Bosco Jr College, also our interactors sang a patriotic medley and the 2nd runner up, Abhinav School, sang "Jayastute". Ishanyaas Center for Arts, founded and directed by Ms Isha Phadke Gokhale presented a number of traditional dance forms of Kathak. "Hori", "Kavitaa Maala" - meaning a garland of "Kavitts" and "Teen Taal” which is a technical piece of 16 beats. The performances were brilliant and the audience were mesmerized by their rhythmic and graceful moves. A few dances too were performed by our Anns and lady Rotarians to the tune of "Lehra Do" and the final dance - a medley saluting all the dignitaries present, officers, jawans, doctors, nurses and patients where all the performers and participants joined in the end. Our talented members sang a number of songs and the auditorium resonated with the popular tunes by Rtn. Faizy and Ann Tasneem who sang a patriotic song, followed by a Marathi song - “Shoor Amhi Sardar” by Rtn. Jayashree and Mr Chandrashekhar and the song "Chodo Kal Ki Baatien” by PP Dipak & Rtn. Vaijayantii. A total of 400 defence persons attended the program. |

Their articles are to be scheduled in consultation with them. • Requesting 3 more members to volunteer to write articles b. Education Project – Proposed by Mayura School Students Connect Program – The Club will organize mentorship sessions in schools where members will share their life and career experiences with students either as one on one sessions or in small groups. The students can ask questions and seek guidance from members based on their interests. Next Steps – Mayura to detail the activity and finalise the same. Members interested in executing the initiative along with Mayura are requested to volunteer c. Global Grants SOP – Proposed by Vikram Puri Develop SOP for reporting and documenting Grants projects to ensure that we don’t face issues at the time of reporting – An ongoing grievance at our club Project Team – Vikram Puri, Nikhil Changediya, Amit Nagpal d. Raise funds for the ICAN project through Individual Philanthropy – Proposed by Ganesh Natarajan - Run a social media campaign – Target raising Rs 3 lacs from this campaign We will be developing videos on the work done through the ICAN project and share the same through a series of social media posts. Project Team – Ipsita and Mayura – Additional members are requested to join Requirements – QR Code required for direct payment to the bank account 2. Wednesday Meetings – a. Plan for one or two meetings as a fellowship along with a popular / honored speaker b. Organize visit to NGOs or alternatively members who are heavily involved social organizations can set a up walk through Visit to the Skills Lighthouse at Yerwada set up by Lighthouse Communities Foundation planned for 22nd Sept 4:30 Pm to 6:30 PM – Organized by Ganesh Natarajan 3. Finance a. Membership fees payments due from 15 members. Members are requested to complete this formality at the earliest b. Bank Account closure – We are in the process of closing 10 of the 18 bank accounts as part of streamlining the finance function. Members are requested to volunteer to support Praveen on this activity 4. Global Grant reporting remains a concern as due to non-availability of information on projects 5. District Projects – We will be taking up the Aanganwadi project – an initiative to improve the infrastructure and building conditions of these child care centers. Members interested to participate in this project should connect with Umesh Jalan 6. Members are requested to promote the Free Surgery initiative organized by Rohit Jerajani within their networks – (Flyer on the same will be shared with members for the same) |
