Minutes of Meeting DG Visit Location: Mughal Sarai Restaurant Time 6.30 pm Date 3rd Nov 23 Attendees: Rotarians DG Manjoo Phadke, AG Rajesh Jain, Rotaractors S Darekar and Yash and RCPH Rotarians and Annettes Total Attendees 30 nos. Fellowship Dinner: Kind courtesy RCPH. The following is the minutes of the DG Meeting. 1. The DG Manjoo Phadke and AG Rtn. Rajesh Jain were welcomed for the meeting. 2. After the meet and the greet, the DG in a pleasant surprise engaged RCPH in a heart to heart conversation. 3. The DG queried the President Elect Nisrin on what was going to be her strategy for the coming year. The DG specifically enquired what her strategy would be to increase the membership. The RCPH President Nitin's response of increase by 10% did not find much favour with the DG who recommended a 100% increase in membership. RCPH Secretary Suhail's suggestion to get the Rotaractors to join Rotary, also did not find favour as the DG explained that from experience the record of Rotaractors joining is very poor. 4. The DG enquired of the AG Rajesh Jain if there were any administrative issues. AG confirmed that all was in order including the documentation. 5. The DG remarked that it seems that there is no concerted effort on part of RCPH to increase membership and all explanations were just excuses. With so much of local population there could definitely be a huge increase in membership. 6. The DG advised RCPH to engage the housing societies in projects, where the benefits of joining Rotary could be shared and residents would like to be part of the same. The DG suggested to engage societies in the Rotary Green Society Project. You can also involve the local corporator and ward pramukh. This is the best way to enhance membership. District Rotary will support in all activities as the templates and pitch are ready for almost any project that RCPH wants to undertake. 7. The DG specifically mentioned that there is no participation of RCPH in any district event or initiative. She asked to frankly inform if RCPH has any prejudice in working with the District. The RCPH members assured her that there is no prejudice. 8. DG advised that BoD could be part of the CRM forum and at least join in 3 of the 12 meetings in the year. The DG also advised the BoD to participate in the synergy projects where one can meet many people and take part in joint projects as well. 9. The DG observed that RCPH is also not involved in capturing CSR funding. She advised that one can get CSR funds even if you don't have the 80G by two methods. a. Routing the fund to Rotary Foundation India, from where the fund can be redirected back to the club. b. Route through any other club which has 80G. In this case only the payments will go from that club but the projects will be carried out in name of RCPH. In case RCPH manage to get CSR funds the District will advise how to go about it. 10. The DG advised that there are so many new CSR mandatory companies in the near vicinity and RCPH should approach them directly or through their CA and CS. Rotary has a team ready to speak about CSR to these companies and will help in case RCPH organises a cluster wise meeting of industrialists. 11. DG advised the President Elect to definitely participate in the training program which will help her immensely. 12. The DG advised RCPH to participate in the following projects which are also the thrust areas for the district. a. Anganwadi projects. These are very simple and low investment projects. b. Rotary Green Societies projects. Great way to increase visibility and enhance membership. Also provides a solution to environmental issues of the urban landscape. c. Water tap aerator project. Again, a low-cost project @ Rs 50/aerator. This can also be clubbed with the Green society project and can provide some relief to the water crisis facing the city and specially the Kondhwa area d. Borewell recharging project. Again, to tackle the water crisis, bowl recharging through a new technology. Costs Rs 18-20K per borewell recharge. Funding has to be arranged for this. e. Paediatrics cardiac surgery support.  This is organised to be fine within Rs 1.5 L per case f. Integrated cancer research foundation project. This is a large project and can be done through joint participation. g. Sewing machine project. Where in exchange for a sewing machine, the beneficiary had to stitch 800 cloth bags. These can be distributed in the neighbourhood after putting the Rotary logo. 14. Rotaractors S Darekar spoke about wet garbage treatment project. She was advised suitably by the DG, who also appreciated the thought process shown by the Rotaractor. She was advised to follow the Organic Garden Group who have a similar vision. 15. Rotaractor Yash briefed about the activities of Rotaract Club of Bharatvarsh. 16. The DG enquired of President Nitin if he is satisfied with the with the performance of RCPH.  The President Nitin, informed that yes, he is satisfied. 17. The President informed about the many projects that RCPH is doing related to education, traffic safety, health etc. The President also informed that wherever required the RCPH members themselves fund these projects. 19. The President appreciated that a club of 18 members is indeed doing well. However, she advised the club to have larger vision and go for bigger projects as the quality of members is very high and certainly the Corporates will trust us to execute their CSR projects. She also advocated more amalgamation of the club with the District. 20. The DG informed that the district had executed projects worth Rs 170 crores in the year and definitely there is much scope for RCPH to get involved in such projects. She also narrated how as DG she has agreed to support ITC project of building schools in the entire country. 21. The DG advised President Nitin to a. Leap to bigger projects b. Increase membership. 22. Regarding the foundation, the DG informed that it seems a burden to subscribe large amount to this. But it is heartening to note that the fund is helping someone somewhere in the 200 countries that has Rotary presence. 23. The DG also informed that Club can consider Non- Rotarian Donations also as part of the Foundation fund. 24. The DG informed that John Hopkins University had made a study on the value of Rotary manpower contribution to society. The value has worked out to an amazing amount of USD 850 Million per year. 25. The DG advised the members to advantage of the various discounts and facilities that are available to Rotarians on different platforms for e.g. Amazon etc. 26. The DG invited RCPH to participate in the a. District Conference in Pune. Participation cost is Rs 8900/person b. Car rally 6 days 7 nights 39500/person. 27. The AG in his report only recited a dialogue that what this club needs is members, members and members. The AG confirmed that all the comments have been already addressed by the DG in her conversation with the RCPH. 28. Reversing the protocol, Rotarian Sameer Mane very eloquently introduced the DG, which was well received. 29. The President of RCPH informed the DG of the various projects undertaken and DG especially appreciated the Road safety helmet project. The DG appreciated the projects that RCPH does on its own. 31. The DG emphasised on the RCPH to have more connect with the District as it will definitely benefit both immensely. 32.  Rotarian Rashida contributed with an Urdu couplet in honour of the DG. 31. The RCPH club decided to have a Diwali celebration meet at the Ladies Club on Wednesday 8th Nov at 7 pm sharp. The dinner will be on contributory basis. 32. The meeting officially concluded with a vote of thanks presented by the President Elect Nisrin Badshah. 33. This was followed by informal discussions and lovely dinner with excellent starters.
