| Minutes of Meeting | RCP Phoenix Annual sports day 2023-24 was held on 26 th Nov. 2023 at RS Sports Club, Sinhagad Road. The entire full day event was planned by Rtn. Aditya Gogate & his team with able support from Pres. Rtn. Sameer Dolare & Secy. Rtn. Madhav Soman. The inauguration was done by the chief guest DGN Rtn. Santosh Marathe at the scheduled time at 8:30 am. The event started with singing of the national anthem. Rtn. Aditya briefed the members about the event to be conducted in detail. Rtn. Madhav made a brief introduction of the chief guest & requested him to address the members. DGN Rtn. Santosh was very impressed with the idea of conducting Sports Day as according to him such events brought together all club members which helps in harmony, camaraderie & team building within members. The sports day had badminton, chess, carrom, fun games for Rotarians, Anns, Spouses & Annets. with box cricket as the much eagerly awaited event. Around 50 members participated in the sports day event. The sports competition started with badminton & chess which were held simultaneously in the badminton hall. This was followed by Carrom competition & fun games for Annets & lady members. Annets enjoyed games like chamcha limbu, sack race & musical chairs with the parents cheering one & all during the games. After a small break when the members had refreshments in the venue, the focus shifted to the much awaited box cricket tournament. There were four teams in the fray. The initial rounds were round robin with each team playing against each other. After the initial intense cricket round robin games, Phoenix Riders & Phoenix Fighters entered the finals. There was loud cheering from the all the non playing members & spontaneous commentary from couple of our members which brought the excitement to the finals to a different level. The sports event culminated with prize distribution ceremony where the deserved individual & team winners were presented with trophies. The trophies were handed over to the winners by Rtn. Shantanu Khurjekar & Rtn. Bahar Badve ( RC of Pune Yuva). PE Rt. Vinay Kumthekar proposed vote of thanks & the sports day ended with smiles & happy memories of a day well spent anticipating many such group events in the future. |
