| Minutes of Meeting | The meeting was called to order by President Girish at 7.30 followed by National Anthem. A one-minute silence was observed for sad demise of Shri Ramkumar Rathi who was honorary member of our club. Then, President Girish welcomed the guests from the district training team namely Rtn Nitin Dhamale, Rtn Pradeep Patil and Rtn Hemant Puranik. Rtn Charudatta Bhave introduced these guests. Rtn Nitin Dhamle started an interesting game of Kaun Banega Karodpati. Many club members participated in the game and also received the prizes. Ann Mrudula Joshi and Mr Chittaranjan Patwardhan were the winners, who passed all 5 rounds successfully. All the members enjoyed this innovative quiz and it also helped to improve our knowledge about Rotary, President Girish delivered vote of thanks and felicitated the guests. This was followed by the Rotary business. President Girish congratulated the members and the annets of club who have achieved success in sports and other various fields. PP Rtn Sanjeev announced the programme for the next week (as mentioned in agenda). He also announced the birthdays of the members and anns (names mentioned in the agenda) and President Girish felicitated them. The meeting was adjourned. |

| Minutes of Meeting | Tambola with a Twist Thursday 30th November, was the second DRT session at the Rotary Club of Poona Downtown. DRT, or District Resource Training, is an initiative started in this Rotary Year to spread awareness and Rotary information through innovative methods. The first session at RCPD was through a game based on the popular KBC and this time the members and spouses present played a game of Tambola. The District Resource Trainer for RCPD, Rtn. Arvind Saraf along with Rtn. Vilas Ravande conducted the session. Participants had to fill in their blank Tambola tickets with words randomly selected from a list given to each one of them. Thereafter, a story relevant to membership in Rotary was read out and words had to be struck off the ticket as they appeared in the story. There was eagerness amongst the players to be the first to win the three lines, Jaldi Five, Four Corners and then the Full House. The trainers kept giving relevant information as references came up and, also, generated some discussion amongst the members. Giving the Vote of Thanks, PE Rtn. Nanu Iyer rightly said that this is an innovative and interactive way of sharing Rotary information and awareness rather than through a talk. It was definitely an evening with a twist! |
