Minutes of Meeting Rtn. Keshav Tamhankar, District Director Green Society Project RY 2023-24 was the guest speaker at the weekly meeting of RC Poona Downtown on Thursday 25 th Jan. The meeting started with a short celebration commemorating the upcoming 75th Republic Day of our great nation. Members came dressed in national colours and sang the ever-popular patriotic song ‘Sare Jahaan Se Accha Hindustan Hamara……” setting the mood. The speaker was then introduced by Rtn. Navya. Rtn. Keshav is a member of RC of Pune Gandhi Bhavan and has been an active and passionate promoter of the Green Society Initiatives started by his club and further taken up at the district level. He began by reminding the audience that July 2023 was the hottest recorded and reiterated that a rise in temperature even to the tune of 1.5 degrees C could trigger a change in monsoon patterns which would spell disaster! He emphasized the need to go back to our roots and have a minimalistic lifestyle which is needed for environmental sustainability. Rtn. Keshav listed the efforts made by Rotary in the area of environment (which is also the 7 th area of focus of RI). The thrust is on Awareness, Facilitation, Assessment and Appreciation to encourage housing societies and MSMEs to work towards creating sustainable green areas with a reduced carbon footprint. He also emphasized that this is not a one time, one year project but is a continuous programme which will continue for the next two years, at least, under the forthcoming District Governors. Processes for the same are already in place.

Minutes of Meeting The meeting started at 7.30 pm. President Rtn Milind welcomed all the board of directors for the sixth BOD meeting of the RY 23-24. • The Minutes of the last BOD were confirmed. Proposed by PP Nitin Naik Seconded by Rtn Vivek Kulkarni • President Milind reviewed the various activities conducted in January. He congratulated PP Vidya for good weekly programs, Rtn Vivek for camps, Rtn Nukul for Project Uday & Quiz, Rtn Viraj/PP Nitin for Jacket initiative, Rtn Uday for 22-23 Club/Trust Audit completion along with SAR 2 payment, PP Pushkaraj for Cow Donation Synergy project initiative. • Service Projects: Rtn Vivek gave information as follows: 1. Checkup Camps planned in February 2. President Milind updated about Elearning Kit (donated by PP Gajanan Lupane) and Water ATM (donated by PP Vibhakar) donation at Bholawade village on 23 Jan • Youth Service: Rtn Kalesh gave information as follows: • Installation of Interact Club of ZP School Yewalewadi was arranged on 23 Dec 23. • He is planning vrukshdindi for Interact Club of Muktangan in February. • Rotaract Club planned Christmas Celebration on 27 Dec and planning a synergy activity on 28 Jan with other Rotaract Clubs with hall charges paid by RCP Katraj. • Club Administration: PP Vidya gave information about next month programs: • 26 January – Movie Premier with “Navardev” Movie team • 27 January – UHF by PN Ajay Kale • 3 February – Program for women health care after 40 year of age • 8 February – DG Visit • 17 February – Valentine Day Celebration • 24 February – DRT • DG Visit committees (Welcome, Stage, Food, Backstage, Attendance) & MOC to be finalized soon • Vocational Service Director: PN Ajay gave information about this: • SERA-VERA will be planned soon • Membership: President Milind gave information as follows: • 3 Members have left club from 31 Dec 23. • There are 2-3 probable new members. • Will focus on retention of members. • Public Image Director: Rtn Viraj gave information about this: • Jacket will be ready before DG Visit. • Will give budget for pigeon prevention awareness flex project and implement after March. • Events Director: Rtn Nukul gave information about this: • Stationary & Tablet was given to Dadachi Shala by his friend. • A visit to Dr Deodhar’s old age home is planned with singing program by club members for the residents. • SERA-VERA will be planned soon. • President Milind informed that Maharashtra Apang Sanghatana wants 20 old mobiles for study, BOD approved to appeal on club group. • Treasurer: Rtn Uday gave information about this: • Balances - Club 140511.54/- ₹ & Trust 765788.96/- ₹ • Club & Trust Audit completed for 22-23, PP Nitin & IPP Namita thanked Rtn Uday for the same. • SAR for 54 members is sent to RI, amount was provisioned through a Fixed Deposit. • He informed that if PAN number is given 80G Certificate can be given to the donor for Cow Donation project. • 2 lkah CSR is expected from Sumasoft (with the help of Rtn Vikas Waghmare) and some more CSR funds are expected from Sahyadri Industries (with the help of PP Pushkraj Mulay) • Change Report is pending • The Rotary Foundation: President Milind gave information about this: • Godaan project is uploaded, donations are being collected. • For the toilet construction at Vinzar, more funds are required which will be managed through CSR. • EREY is planned for 23-24 • PP Ajit asked foundation collection target for 23-24, President Milind informed that it is 12000$. • Kalesh declared donation of 100$ for APF • Counselor PP Nitin expressed satisfaction about good projects in all avenues and good weekly meetings. Minutes of Meeting The beautiful rangoli drawn by Tejas Dabadghav on the facade, the cut outs of Shri Ram, Lakshman, Sita Mai, Shri Hanuman and Jatayu were attracting attention, a little further we were welcomed by our Annes, Rotarians Nitin and Anuja Gadre, Abhijit and Seema Mhaskar and Rajkumar and Saranga Tambe welcomed the guests with Ashtagandha, Attar, Gajre, Ramvastra, Pedha and Sunthavada. We entered the auditorium with saffron almond garam masala milk sponsored by Mr. Keyur Curry. All worshiped the standing Satej idol of the all-beautiful Shriram given by Parag Gadgil and Co. The program started with the blowing of the conch by Ved Padwal. Our beloved Ram Lalla's pranprathishtha was on 22nd January 2024. A spectacular grand divine ceremony which will be recorded in the bright history of India was completed in Ayodhya. Singer Rtn. Chandrasekhar Mahamuni and Narrator Shri Abhay Gokhale were going to present Geet Ramayan. In Ramayana Valmiki Rishi has written the story of Shri Ram in 28000 verses. Ga. Di. Madgulkar had transcribed the same Ramakatha into 56 songs and Baburji's vocal music made Geetramayan alive for us. The singer and the narrator had accomplished the task of presenting this Geetramayana in just one and a half hours. Swaye Shri Ram Prabhu Aikti... started and the entire audience was engrossed in the story of Ram..... Ram Janmla Ga Sakhi... Swayamvar Zale Sita... Jai Gange... one after another enthralled the audience. Paradhin ahe Jagati.. saw tears spilled while listening... Petavi Lanka Hanumanta... Setu bandhare ... Bhuvi Ravana vadh jhala... Ga mulanno Sri Ramayana... No one knew when the program came to an end and stopped. All were overwhelmed with joy and came out Shriram Shriram... just humming the hope of Shriram. President Meenal Tai felicitated the guests and vote of thanks was done by Ann Vrushali. In the end, everyone enjoyed Sugras food with friends and aspirants.
