| Minutes of Meeting | On the occasion of Environment Day, Wednesday 5th June at 7 am, we all gathered enthusiastically at Pu la Deshpande Udyan parking lot. Pr. Minaltai started with the national anthem. Ann Vrashali invited the chief guest Dr. Anuradha Upadhyay and Dr. Manik Phatak and introduced to everyone. Hearing more information about the garden, when everyone arrived at the garden, Tai explained that the design of the garden is an exact scale down replica of Okayama Korkuen Garden spread over 10 acres. This original park is located in Japan and is spread over an area of 12 hectares. So this garden is called Pune Okayama Japanese Style friendship garden. While walking in the garden, Tai informed about many trees like Chinar, Laxman Sut, Ficus benjamin, Bavar, Bamboo etc. After that, we bought a ticket and visited Mughal Garden which is next to it, Pu la Deshpande Udyan Phase 2. While listening to the information about it, we came to know that this is a replica of the Mughal Garden in our Raj Bhavan. Talking about his design, she mentioned bilateral symmetry...same fragrant flowers, fruit trees, same trees etc. were seen in order on both - left and right sides. A green fence and a wall on one side, a private megh-dambari for seating the royal family and a spring falling from a height and water flowing down from various fountains can easily be seen meeting each other. After that we all had breakfast in Shree Upahar Griha after thanking both Tai and giving them gifts and went home with a different vision. |
