Rotary Club of Pune Anamora conducted a family run event in Amanora Park Town, to raise the awareness towards Reuse, Recycle and Reduce Plastic waste. The event is called Run-4-Earth and Rotary club expects to conduct this event every year with new themes around sustainable environment. There were nearly 1000 runners who participated in 3KM, 5KM and 10 KM run inside Amanora Park Town. Mahindra First Choice was platinum partner and Amanora Park Town was Title Sponsor for the event. It started sharp at 6:00 Hrs with Jumba warmup session and ended by 10:00 hrs as planned with vote of thanks. As per organizers the event achieved all targets and was well received by residents and participants. NGOs like Rudra foundation who were working alongside for recycling plastic waste was one of the ecosystem partner along with team miracle. Rotary team has also formed a team named “eco warriors” who are involved in driving a more sustainable environment. Currently for this year, they are focusing heavily on plastic waste. President, Rotary Club of Pune Amanora, Mr Satish Narayan said “With this team, energy and confidence we will take this year after year marathon event as one of the important ever to be marked in everyone's calendar. Next year we will plan well in advance and will be more organized and efficient”. Overall participants and residents enjoyed it with good music, engagement, refreshment, weather and a noble cause on a beautiful Sunday morning. As per the program director Rtn Col Vinay Gupta, “the event will evolve and become bigger and better next time by making new beginning of the beginning we created today” Rotary Club of Pune Amanora intends to drive this event next year once again and would like to expand the network in the form on sponsors, participants, partners, donors and will announce the theme for 2019 event in next few months. The expected number of participants for next year will be around 2000-5000 and with the success of this event, rotary team is enthusiastic in taking it to next level to create much wider impact.
