Dr. Prakash Amte is a well known personality in India whose family has devoted 3 generations of their full time for the service of the Tribals and downtrodden in the eastern districts of Chandrapur, Gadhiroli of the state of Maharashtra in India. Prevention of Hypothermia in new born babies is a critical need for the tribal women living in remote areas where there are NO health care facilities. An innovative design of a portable equipment that can be worn by the mother, which will cover a new born and provide a controlled temperature by a battery operated heater with 8 hrs of Battery life. This much time is seen sufficient for the patients to cover the distance from their place of stay to the nearest hospital - Dr. Amte's Hemalkasa hospital. The charger for the battery can be plugged to a usual 230 V socket or to a charging port in a car. This innovative equipment is expected to provide the critical care to the tribal new borns & increase their life expectancy.
