Thalassemia major patients cannot create red blood cells, hence they need a regular blood transfusion at frequent intervals throughout their lives. To facilitate these patients Dr. Jayashree Todkar and Dr. Hemant Todkar have made 2 beds available in their hospital on a regular basis. Inauguration of this centre was done at Dr. Todkar hospital, Mangalwar Peth, Pune. The blood will be made available free of cost by Red Plus Blood Bank. The patients will have to bear only the cost of some accessories which are also made available at very competitive costs at a nearby medical stores. This is synergy project where Hadapsar central has taken lead and many clubs have participated.
