INSTITUTION BASED RYLA HELD AT LAXMI EYE INSTITUTE OPTOMETRY & VISION SCIENCES PANVEL, ON 12TH OCTOBER 2012 3RD Institute based RYLA was conducted at Laxmi eye institute Optometry & Vision Sciences college on 12thth October 2012 from 1200hrs. to 1700 hr.Totally 60 students from 2nd year of Diploma & 2nd & 3rd year degree students in Optometry & Vision Sciences took participation along with 2 staff members. We covered three important topics as follows : • Positive attitude by Rtn. Pres. A M Gawarikar(1400 to 11500 ) • Effective Communication skills by Rt. PP Shailesh Palekar(1500 to 1600 ) • Preparation of resume & Interview techniques by Rtn. PP R S Rao (1600 Hr. to 1700 Hr.) All the participants shown keen interest in all the subjects. Rotarian R S Rao gave excellent tips for preparation of simple resume & emphasized that it should be of single page & should never exceed 2 pages. He also gave information on proper dress code for interview & gave list of 10 commonly asked questions during interview. Dr. Rtn. PP Shailesh Palekar started with communication game showing distortion in communication & all participants enjoyed the game & seen distortion in non verbal communications. Different types of communication was explained along with details of verbal & non verbal communications. Rotarian A M Gawarikar gave presentation on positive attitude emphasizing An attitude is a hypothetical construct that represents an individual's degree of like or dislike for an item. Attitudes are generally positive or negative views of a person, place, thing, or event-- this is often referred to as the attitude object. People can also be conflicted or ambivalent toward an object, meaning that they simultaneously possess both positive and negative attitudes toward the item in question. The programme was concluded at 1700 hr.with vote of thanks by Administrator of the college Mr. Mohan Hindapur & we also took feed back from participants.
