Adarsha Ganesh Mandal Spardha 2009-10 Prize distribution ceremony was conducted on 12-9-09 at Wardekar Hall in Muktangan English School. Ganesh Mandals from Swargate to Katraj participate in this competition. Seventy-nine Ganesh Mandals participated this year in competition.The scrutiny of Mandals was done by 3rd party inspecting agency which consisted of Panel of social workers.Those mandals who followed the rules led down by our club were selected for final list of 10 Mandals.The basic criteria being celebrating Ganeshutsav with social aspect in mind. When Rtn.Prof Ajay KALE insisted that we should personally invite all prize winners we took motorcycles and visited all mandals.We interviewed them learnt about their experiences. Though we were exhausted at end of the day we were also equally satisfied. We enjoyed programs they were presenting.One of Mandal felicitated all of us on stage in between there lavani Mohotsav. They had build a huge stage and about 1000 audience were hearing about Rotary from us. A good PR indeed for Rotary. One of the mandals had prepared CD on Plastic pollution. Mixing with common people gave us additional hands and ideas. We are planning to carry out project in collaboration with Ganesh Mandals for whole year. On prize distribution day the Mandals began pouring in with Dhol, tasha in big numbers.The Wardekar hall was full and many karyakarte were standing.But they were full of enthusiasm shouting loudly Ganpati Bappa Morya and what not.Rtn.Prof.Kale took charge of the situation.His experience of controlling students helped us.The examiners were felicitated.5 mandals representative spoke about there one best project. Dr.Ramchandra Dekhne the chief guest who has mastery in Sant Sahitya enchanted the audience with his lucid speech.Everyone wanted to hear more from him but clock was ticking. Then the real drama began.As Rtn.Ajay started announcing names of winners the flocks of Karyakarte marched towards stage and gracefully accepted our prizes. This year we have introduced a Shield for 1st prize winners in Savajanik and Society category. This was donated by one of our Rotarians.The satisfaction seen on faces of award winners made us forget all the hardships for arranging the program and time spent for last one month. Service director Rtn.Abhey in his ever graceful way made thanks giving. Really we have made friends with lot of mandals this year and bonds of love with them is real prize for our club.
