ROTARY CLUB OF POONA NORTH SOLAR ENERGY PROJECT – YEAR 2012-13 RCPN, as a part of it’s vocational service, has been undertaking projects to encourage entrepreneurship, innovative technology and employment generation for the benefit of the community. This year RCPN has planned to organize a programme on ‘Solar Energy’ which is the most vital source of energy for the whole world. The project would be handled in two phases . In the first phase of the project, a competition would be held for the students to develop business ideas with project proposals to set up enterprises in the field of solar energy for various domestic, commercial & industrial applications. The proposals can be related to 1. Solar thermal energy application like a. solar water-heating b. Process heating c. Cooking d. Food drying etc. 2. Solar power generation with pv cells etc. 3. Solar cooling/air conditioning / refrigeration 4. Solar vehicles, pumps, fans etc 5. Other innovative solar applications. The competition would be held for college students in the age group of 18 to 30 (can be relaxed in exceptional cases). The winners of the competition shall be given two awards : 1) Rs. 25,000/- & 2)Rs. 15,000/- 2. The second phase shall include a programme on solar energy where experts in the field would be invited to give their experiences in developing solar technology in the country. The awardees of the competition held in phase I shall present their proposals in the programme and the awards shall be presented to the two winners. The award function shall be held sometime in the 2nd half of March or in the month of April 2013. Further details of the competition shall be forwarded in the next few days. One can participate individually, in a team of two or three (maximum). 2. Fill-up the form and e-mail your Proposal to srujan@googlegroups.com. One copy of the same may be forwarded as a CD to………………. 3. All plans are to be submitted as PDF documents & any other sort of illustrative material like charts,statistics may be used with proper acknowledgements. In no way should any part of the business plan or related documents originate from a professional source. 4. The plan can be of a maximum of 10 pages excluding the cover page. 6. Document uploaded should have file name like this: SSBC Name of one participant topic of venture_Fieldname 7. The front page of each submission should have the names, email ids and contact numbers of each team member. 8. No reference of team members is allowed in the B plan(excluding the front page) Notes: 1. The proposed business idea and business plan should not be in violation of any intellectual propertyrights. 2. Applicants risk disqualification if they attempt to approach a judge, or have someone do that on their behalf, in connection with the competition. 3. Teams or team members that have received any form of venture capital financing for their business plan in the past or a likeness thereof may not participate in the competition. 4. All finalists must agree that, should they be chosen as a winner, they will use prize winnings to establish or continue their business operations. 5. If no Business Plan is deemed worthy, no financial awards will be given. 6. Any entries received after the deadline will not be considered for the competition. 7. The decisions of the organizers and the Jury members will be final and binding on all the participants.
