Free cataract surgeries of needy beneficiaries identified through hospital and a cataract detection camp held at Mhatobashi Village (9th Septemeber 2019) were performed at Sane - Guruji Arogya Kendra , Hadapsar . A team of doctors performed the surgeries lead by Rtn Dr Rajesh Pawar. Surgeries were conducted on an average of two times a month, for 4-5 patients. On account of the success of the program we extended it to cover more beneficiaries . Total of 150 beneficiaries will be covered with a spend of Rs 2.25 lakhs. Surgeries conducted on dates in reverse chronological order: 15th May 2019, 29th March 2019, 22nd March 2019, 13th March 2019, 1st March 2019, 13 Feb 2019, 31st January, 9th January, 4th Jan 2019, 22nd Dec 2018, 1st Dec 2018, 26th Oct 2018, 28th Sep 2018, 9th Sep 2018, 8th Aug 2018. We have spent 1.5 L and additional 75 K allocated. Details on the camp : Eye checkup and cataract detection camp for villagers of Mhatobashi Alandi Village with team of doctors from Sane-Guruji Hospital ( SGH) was planned and conducted on 9th September, from 10.00 am to 4 pm. The village is about 1.5 hr from Pune with a population of 3500. Patients detected with cataract were operated later. The camp was orgainized by Rtn Suresh Beri and conducted team of doctors from SGH (please see separately listed project) Report : The camp was attended mostly by senior citizens. More than 200 persons were examined . 22 patients were positive for cataract (both eyes), 30 had in one eye and 1 case of squint was detected at the camp.
