Laughter is the best medicine. It helps relieve stress, provides a full-scale workout for your muscles and unleashes a rush of stress-busting endorphins. For people housed in correction centres, stress, guilt, anger and innumerable negative emotions torture the mind more than any physical discomfort. Laughter therapy helps mitigate these effects as it basically relaxes the mind. For an offender this might be a turning point in his life. He may begin to perceive life from a better angle and help him reform and repent. This will create a positive impact on his behaviour and may even lead to lesser duration of a sentence. This is our way of helping society. Rtn. Makarand Tilloo, a famous laughter therapist will conduct a session for the inmates at Yerewada.
