Awareness was done on Green Ganesh /Eco-friendly Ganesh visarjan and making the citizens understand the concept of the Ganesh festival in its true sense and its effects on our Mother Nature. Amanora Citizens were made aware of the eco-friendly donation campaign and why we are choosing this way to celebrate Ganesh Visarjan through mail and schools. Then banners and standees were displayed at civic centre and at actual site to let people know about this campaign. This year also Amanora received a huge response from Citizens. Total 155 Ganesh Idol’s collected and were donated to NGO for reuse of these idols. While most of the other Amanora citizens had celebrated the festival using clay idols and immersing it in buckets of water at home. Everyone donating the idols felt satisfied that they were saving environment by avoiding water pollution. We had also arranged separate collection of the offerings of flowers, garlands often called “Nirmalya†and other organic material and converted it into manure by composting with the help of Excel OWC machine. This compost material was used to fertilize Amanora garden.
