Free health camp for Women was organized by RCP Shivajinagar & RCP Sahawas under Service Projects Avenue jointly with Akhil Dhankavdi-Balajinagar Shivjayanti Utsav Samiti on the occasion of “Shivjayanti” on Saturday- March 30th, 2013 at Durvankur Mangal Karyalay, Dhanakavdi, Pune. It included free Blood Test for Hemoglobin (Hb) level & free distribution of Iron Tablets for one month, Eye Test for vision assessment & free distribution of spectacles to the needy, Free dental check-up & treatment advise, Free checkup for TB & the chest X-Ray for the suspect cases. Special service included in the project was free “Rubella vaccination” for the girls in the age group 15-21 years. In addition to the vaccination, free brouchers on Rubella were also distributed. The project got positive response and the women from all age groups started queing up at the venue by 10 am. The medical check-up was commenced after the brief formal inauguration ceremony. The competent & kind medical staff provided the services with great professionalism and the caring Rotarians, Anns & Annas facilitated the event smoothly by guiding & managing the crowds. The total number of beneficiary women was 338. The timing was extended from scheduled 2.30 pm to beyond 4 pm due to continued inflow & participation response. On behalf of RCP Sahawas President Dattatray Kulkarni, Ann Meenal Kulkarni, Anna Shrirang Raje, Rtn. Varsha Kulkarni, Ann Sangita Pandit, Rtn. Nivedita Mulay attended the inauguration. Rtn. Sunil Vispute, Ann Harshada Vispute, Annette Chintu Vispute, Rtn. Sushama Hardikar, Rtn. Rahul Lale, Ann Tarini Lale, Rtn. Sudhir Vaidya, Rtn. Milind Pandit, Rtn. Vinod Deshpande and Rtn. Dilip Deshpande also actively participated in the project. This project marks continued commitment of RCP Sahawas in providing Health Check-up for the society on the background of various camps organized earlier during past two years in Warje & Sinhagad Road (Dattawadi) successfully. This achievement also marks special bonding developed between RCP Shivajinagar & RCP Sahawas over past years in planning & executing joint projects. Such projects uphold Rotary PR though community service!
