Rotary 3131 - Project Details

RI has set a goal to bring 100% literacy in south Asian countries by 2017. In line with this goal RID 3131 has formed a separate ALP committee & this committee have planned to make our district complete literate by 2017. TCS has set a goal to make India complete literate by 2017 & have design special software called ‘AKSHAR DHARA’. We are proud to be first club in District 3131 to implement this project in the slum area called Pansare Wasti of Daund City. Above 200 women are found in this slum area illiterate and have shown keen interest to get literate through this project. So our Club has formed a ALP Committee consisting of six members which are as follows- Rtn. Shalini Pawar as Convenor & Rtn. Arun Meher, Rtn. Aruna More,Rtn.Saroj Kalanke,Rtn. Dipali Shinde,Ann.Snehal Deshmukh as Members. Today on 20/07/2013 this function was arranged at SADAK Aashramshala; a NGO with the support of Satyajyot Mahila Bahu-Uddeshiya Sanstha. Which was a similar objective of adult literacy program for these women. We were privileged by having District ALP Director PP Vaishali Bhagwat, Rtn. Atul Joshi & Rtn. IPP Prakash Joglekar along with Sarika Kohali, CSR Lead TCS & Amey Asodkar, ALP Trainee TCS. The project was inaugurated by handing over the CD’s of this project to President Sarika Kohali & by clicking the CD on the screen by President Dr.Pawar. More than 55 women participated in this function.Mrs. Jyoti Mokal, a Dynamic Leader of this SatyaJyot NGO expressed her thanks to Rotary Club of Daund & assured complete cooperation in this year. Jyoti Mokal & Rtn. Shalini have received training of TCS Centre & will continue this program. New Young Rtn. Dipali Shinde Anchored the Function very efficiently.
