The Rotary Club of Pune Sports City Dandiya"" is all encompassing event that inculcates immense camaraderie, bonding and assimilation among members. It is also a great event to attract new members, have the RYE students experience the rich cultural festivals of India, have Rotractors bond with Rotarians a good opportunity to invite Rotarians from the district. It is a learning experience in event management for new Rotarians. Starting with event planning that starts nearly two months in advance, finalising the venue, stage, security, insurance, endorsements, PI , foodstalls, and sponsors. Every step from planning from appeal letter, to banner design , donation passes design to the finale of inviting the judges. selecting prizes and band has all members involved. The best cultural event for bonding that has stood its test of time and been going on since last 22 years. This year we have a new venue, food stalls, and professional dancing group. The footfall was 1000 or more. The event got media coverage (FM , print etc). It is also the major fund raiser and Rotary Public Imaging and Polio awareness event. Rotary Club of Pune Sports City held the Rotary Mega Fusion Dandiya"" on 11th October 2018. The event gave wide coverage to Polio and other Rotary programs that the club intended to /or was undertaking such as Cervical Cancer Vaccination, Literacy, WinS and cataract surgeries. The event was a riot of colors and saw an attendance of 1000 people. The event is a 22 year old legacy of the club and a signature event. The event was covered on social media, print and FM radio channels. Proceeds generated were utilized to undertake the various projects during the RY 18-19. The program took two months of meticulous planning. The proceeds of this were utilized for the projects executed by the club. Beneficiaries are the total of the beneficiaries are total of all beneficiaries of all projects together. The event was attended by all members, Anns, Annette, DG Dr Shailesh Palekar, First Lady Shobhana, District officers, host of Rotarians from other clubs, Rotaractors and RYE students.The event was covered via print media, banners, posters, newspaper, FM radio coverage etc. Rotaract club of Sinhagad were supported for projects (RS 5500) in turn for the support rendered for distribution of donation passes.
