Borwa is a small village in Dist Washim, Tal. Manglurpir. There are 27 families in the village and they have done excellent work in the Water Cup conducted by Paani Foundation and were awarded first prize in the district. People are together and charged up to work for their progress. Borwa village passed a resolution in their Gram Sabha to shift to using Biogas. The aim for implementation of the project was to make Village Borwa completely self reliant for their cooking energy using a clean and renewable fuel by installing a biogas at each home. The total project envisaged installing 27 units of Biogas Plants, one for each family and additional 3 units for School and Anganwadi. The unit cost is Rs 45,000 per installation Our Club had decided to sponsor 3 such Biogas units and accordingly, the amount of Rs. 1,35,000/- was paid to Vaayu Mitra, the NGO which had conceptualised and was implementiong the whole project.
