Joint project with other clubs Pimpri, Akurdi, Nigdi, Pimpri town etc. at Dehu Road area reserved by Government of Maharashtra. About 200+ saplings were jointly planted by the volunteers and were from multiple age groups right from small kids to senior citizens. Gliricidia tree has been covering the hills before the independence period, while it being known as rodent killer it is also a large weed as it doesn't allow any tree to grow in its vicinity. Hence it has been carefully identified, cleared and then native species of Sahyadri have been planted e.g. Wad, pangara, gorakhchinch, saptparni, bahava, behada, shishir(Indian Rain Tree). Planting these trees is more than just being their being native, but once grown they will start bearing flowers and fruits which will become source of the local birds, insects, butterflies, animals etc. Thus will build a long term healthy ecosystem in sustainable manner.
