On Wednesday, 11th December at 10 a.m, Mr. Sunil Patil from Ruby Hall Blood Bank called up Ann Ameeta, at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology (IBB), Pune University, and requested for a blood donation drive as they urgently required platelets and that too within a couple of hours. Considering the timing …with exams being held in some Departments while others had already closed for the semester….coordination was certainly not an easy task. Notwithstanding, 35 students came forward and the bus from Ruby Hall arrived to transport the students to Ruby Hall for blood donation. After taking into consideration parameters such as body weight, blood pressure, hemoglobin content etc., 22 students were deemed viable for blood donation. All of them whole-heartedly participated and the program was over by 4 p.m. Thank you guys for coming forth at such a short notice. The Blood Bank staff thanked Downtown and IBB for their wholehearted support in blood donation activities.
