The Police Department is in need to purchase breath analysers to detect Drunken Driving in order to avoid accidents as there is an increase in number of accidents caused to due Drunken Driving in the city 3 Beneficiaries:- The police department has shortage of such equipment . By this they easily identify the suspect. Each analyser can analyse about 20 cases in a day. 5 Rotarians and 1 Ann actively participated in this project. 5 Help Provided Our Club provided 5 Breath Analysers to the Department as on 11/03/2014 6 Status of the Project These Breath analysers were handed over to Deputy Commissioner of Police- Traffic and the project is complete. About half of all alcohol related traffic accident fatalities involve drivers with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of about .16 or higher. Hard core drunk drivers are a major threat to the safety of themselves and others. Breath analysers are a major tool in convicting such dangerous offenders. Thus our club provided 5 Digital breath analyser to detect the drunken people and help in reducing the traffic accident. This enhances the image of Rotary significantly with a very important Police Department and public at large.
