Under District guidelines, Rotary Club of Panvel reached out to the Palaspe Phata Highway Police station as to assess their needs and to understand what difficulties they face during the peak season of traffic movement from Mumbai to Konkan during Ganesh Chaturthi festival period. After proper needs assessment as guided by police, Rotary Club of Panvel & Rotaract club of Panvel erected 3 tents on trailer beds provided by Traffic police at 3 various spots on Panvel Goa Highway complete with loudspeakers and fans and logistical support to Traffic Police and Rotary Club and Rotaract club of Panvel volunteers. The tents were erected so that Traffic Police can guide the influx of heavy traffic with help of Rotary volunteers as and when required. The tents were erected at 1. Palaspe Phata. 2. Near Kamat Hotel on Goa Highway 3. Near Kharpada toll naka. The tents were manned by Traffic Police and Rotary club of Panvel Volunteers over a period of 3 days from 06.09.2013 to 09.09.2013
