Our club, Rotary Club of Pune Deccan Gymkhana is happy to have recently conducted an eye check-up camp at Matoshri Vriddhashram, an old-age home in Pune. We examined about a 100 senior citizens from the old-age home and nearby areas. They were examined by Rtn. PP Dr. Ravindra Kolte, Rtn. Dr. Mandar Paranjpe and Ann. Dr. Sucharita Paranjpe, who are all ophthalmologists. 15 free operations for cataract treatment will be done and 30 patients have gone for intensive eye check-ups. President Archana Tople, Secretary PP Dr. Nilkanth Pashankar and fellow Rotarians were also present at the camp. This event was covered by reputed newspapers the Kesari and Lokmat.
