Keeping in mind the theme of this year we planned the health camp for one of the group of service providers that connect us with school children i.e. School Van drivers. This was conducted n 19th September at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan School for their van drivers For the safety of school children it is necessary that the drivers are free from any problem of vision, of hearing, of blood pressure, of blood sugar and anemia. We checked 46 drivers for all these ailments. Out of 45 drivers 28 (62%) were anemic and were given iron tablets for one to two months. About 20 (44%) had blood pressure higher than normal levels and were not aware about it. They were asked to measure again blood pressure with their family doctor and take necessary medicine from them. Random sugar was high for 5 drivers. Almost all were recommended to regularly check their eyesight and 10 had refractive error. Similarly, 15 drivers (33%) were asked to get examined their hearing ability in detail. The project was appreciated by school authorities. As each van carried at least 30 children as it indirectly took care of safety of about 1350 children. Attendees : President Anjali, Rtn.
