To mark the occasion of Blood Donation Day of our Rotary District, our club had organized a Blood Donation Camp. Canvassing for the project was done by our club members through posters indicating importance of blood donation that were on display at prominent locations and hand bills were distributed to motivate blood donors. Janakalyan Blood Bank, Ahmednagar had come all the way to Pune collect donated blood bags. They had sent their team of doctors and staff for the camp. Janakalyan has facility to bifurcate contents of blood into various components such as red cells, platelets, plasma, etc. So, the blood collected will be stored properly in different forms and can be supplied to the needy as per requirement. The venue selected was well ventilated and had good amount of natural light. The camp was inaugurated by our President Rtn. Anant Ghalsasi at 10 am. Our Rotarians, Anns and Rotaractors volunteered their help since number of donors was high. Rtn. Anand Gosavi took special efforts to motivate his students from NICMAR to donate blood. Many students from his institute came all the way to donate blood for a noble cause. In all 83 donors donated blood. These included our Rotarians, Anns and Rotaractors from our club. The Rotaractors from our club supported and volunteered for the event. Janakalyan Blood Bank issued a certificate to our club.
