The Government of India initiated Pulse Polio Programme in the year 1994 and set the ball rolling for the Eradication of Polio from our country. As the risk of importation still persists from three countries - Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria, where polio virus is still circulating, as a precautionary measures, the need still persists for India to maintain the population immunity and sensitive surveillance till the global polio eradication happens as per the Health Minister. But, the World Health Organisation - WHO has joined Rotary International right from the beginning in Polio Eradication Program - PEP. Supporting the Cause, Rotary club of Pune Amanora along with Noble hospital administered 608 doses of the polio vaccine, headed by Rtn. Dr.Mansi Sharma and The President Rtn.Padmaja Naidu with 8 other members of the club on Sunday, 19th January 2020. The volunteers handled active administration of the vaccine, organised the infrastructure needed outside the clinic, guided the beneficiaries at the booths for registrations and also arranged food and beverages for the volunteers. It was the third consecutive successful year of Polio Campaign.
