Woman’s Day 2020 celebrated in Bopodi, Pune with Marathi TV actress Shivani Rangole as the chief guest. Five women (e.g. house maids) belonging to the lower strata of society who have educated their children to become successful individuals were felicitated with the “Savitrimai Sanman Puraskar 2020”. Success stories of these role models resulted in encouraging other mothers to concentrate on educating their children. 20 Paithani sarees generously donated by Rotarians, Anns, their friends presented to those felicitated and in a lucky draw. Medical Director Rtn Zimra Israel gave a brief presentation in Marathi on the work that Rotary does in the area of Health and Education thus increasing awareness among all present. Several posters and banners were put up. A very successful, impactful collaborative program where the importance of Rotary was highlighted.
