RC Pune University - RYLA on 25th September 2014 JSPMs’ Jaywant Institute of Pharmacy is located at Tathawde on the outskirts of Pune. RC Pune University conducted its first at RYLA here on 25th September 2014. The full day program was inaugurated by none other than DG Vivek Aranha, who implored the students to take full advantage of the program so as to have successful careers and become good citizens. He pointed out the enormous opportunities that exist in a world where rich nations are aging while India is becoming younger. Club President Dileep Paranjpye familiarized the students with the primary objectives and activities of Rotary, RYLA and the need to develop their vision. JSPM’s Executive Director Dr. P.P.Vitkar said in his welcome speech that he was very happy to see Rotary voluntarily doing so much for the new generation, while the College Principal Dr. Prashant Hambar expressed confidence that students will gain a lot more than their classroom education through this RYLA program. In addition, District support was provided by Rtn. Ajay Wagh, Director – Youth Committee. The first talk of the day was by Dr. P. P. Joshi, a Counselor and Consultant, who familiarized the students with the concepts and techniques of Positive Attitude. He followed it up some time later with a talk about Leadership. Rtn. Makarand Tillu regaled the audience with his inimitable style, as he spoke about Communication Skills. RCPU’s own PP Pradip Patil went into finer details of dress sense, punctuality, etiquette etc. when he educated the students about Interview Skills while Rtn. Sumedha Bhosale explained about importance of physical and mental health, lifestyles, and healthy diet. The program was superbly organized and coordinated by Youth Director PP Rekha Patil, while First Lady Shobhana provided rock solid support throughout the day. Service Projects Director Satish Mohile who never misses any Project activity was present with Rtn. Rohini, as were PP Ajit, PP Kshama, PP Vinay and Meeta Rao. Nearly 120 students of the Institute of Pharmacy came for the RYLA and were given certificates of participation from RCPU.
