Rotary Club of Pune University – New RDEP set up RCPU has been keen to provide e-learning facilities to places which have difficulty in normal school teaching. Toward this objective, we studied various options available from 3 Vendors viz, SumConcepts, Tirubaa and GurujiWorld. The conclusion was that small schools with less than 50 students should be provided the low cost TV based options, while larger ones where classroom sizes are big, would require a system with a projector and screen. RCPU had received two requests for RDEP systems from rural schools. The school at Materewadi wanted a TV with 40” screen, while the other one at Sangvi could use a 32” screen. Accordingly, Tirubaa equipment was provided to ZP School at Materewadi and a SumConcepts system was given to the school at Sangvi, taluka Mawal near Talegao. Both systems have been installed and made operational in the second week of December 2014. A third RDEP with a 32” TV Screen has been installed at Dhumal Deokarwadi. Formal inauguration of RDEP at Sangvi was done on 16th March 2015, while others will be done in due course. These installations of RDEP systems are in addition to the one provided to New English Medium School, Pune in August. All the three systems have been procured by the club with its own resources, without any financial assistance from the District.
