RC Pune University – 9th RDEP of the year RC Pune University reached a milestone on 17th April 2015 when the 9th RDEP system gifted by it to a school was inaugurated. This was the 9th RDEP of the year, which is the highest number so far by RCPU in any year. The equipment was provided to the Zilla Parishad (ZP) School at Karla, near Lonavala. Teachers and students of the school were absolutely thrilled to get the e-learning facility. Not only they but the village Sarpanch and other responsible citizens Vaishalitai Gaikwad and Mr. Hulawale also expressed their gratitude to RCPU for having provided the RDEP to the school. Speaking on the occasion President Dileep Paranjpye said that while Karla was famous for its ancient cave carvings, in modern times schools like this one are creating the citizens of tomorrow, equipping them to face modern times with confidence. He urged the school to use the facility not just for the children but also for adult literacy and education. School teacher Mr. Gaikwad actively demonstrated working of the RDEP to everyone. This school had been identified through contacts of PP Vinay Rao and Meeta Rao, and positive role was played by PPs Pradip and Rekha Patil. All were present at the Inauguration program with President Dileep and First Lady Shobhana. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. Bijoor of Durga Parameshwari Mandir Karla Shree Trust who have been instrumental in bringing together RCPU and the ZP School.
