| Non Rotary Partners | Hodek - The objectives of providing furniture and miscellaneous items to schools at Shajpur were as follows: The two schools identified were in deficit of basic infrastructure for students and teachers. They lacked benches for students, tables and chairs for staff etc. In these classrooms, the children were forced to sit on the floor. During the rainy season the books and clothes of children generally get damp. The handwriting of these little toddlers gets impacted. In addition, there are more chances of children falling sick. By providing this basic comfort of school benches we could improve their concentration and engagement and making schooling a pleasurable experience resulting in improved attendance, better examination results and improved literacy rate. Similarly, teachers require basics of a table and chair to support their teaching activity and classroom require cupboards to store books & other teaching material. The second objective to strengthen the existing facilities was to bridge the deficit in infrastructure in order to bring rural schools on par with urban ones The need assessment attached enlists some of these requirements like TV screen which is useful for distance learning and audio-visual teaching methods, having certain sports equipment etc. 150 students from Primary and pre-primary sections will directly benefit from this investment. Over a period of 5 years at least 750 children & their 15 teachers will benefit. |
