Diwali is a festival of lights; festival of joy and happiness. And what better way to celebrate Diwali than to spread light in the lives of the poor and fill their life with joy and happiness! Rotaract Club of Panache along with Rotary E-Club of Pune Diamond successfully completed the faraal and stationery kits donation drive, Happywali Diwali. Each educational kit included pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener, crayons and Diwali Faral.The cost of each kit was Rs100/- We raised 61,400 rupees in a week's time. We donated a total of 1188 kits to various orphanages and other needy people. The media took notice of our work and published it in Lokmat newspaper. The donation drive took place in three phases on three days of Diwali. Phase 1 : Donated kits to Mahila Sevagram Orphanage and on the streets of Kothrud, Warje, SB Road, Deccan, Law College Road and Paud Road.Phase 2 : St. Crispin's. Orphanage, Karve Road. Phase 3 : Khilarewadi, Erandwane and Jansevak Foundation Anathashram, Gandhinagar. The experience was so fulfilling and it was one of the biggest projects since we have started. We thank each and everyone who generously donated for this cause and helped this event be a huge success..
