During Ganesh Festival, to avoid pollution of water and in turn pollution of environment, Rotary club of Pune Phoenix in synergy with Rotary club Yuva undertook the project of Nirmalya collection in various Housing societies. The project had two segments. 1) Nirmalya collection and shredding. 2) Composting into Rich Manure. Rotary Club Phoenix put 20 big plastic containers with posters having Rotary club Ohoenix name on it, in various societies such as Woodland Society, Shilpa Society, Ruturang society Kothrud, Kudale Patil Paradise Sinhagad Road, Crossover County, Vadgaon Khurd and collected Nirmalya during Ganesh festival. Total nirmalya collected was about 30 containers. Nirmalya collected was handed over to Rotary club Yuva for further process of shredding and composting. The project not only helped in creating awareness in the residents of these societies but also contributed in avoiding water and environment pollution plus distribution of fertilizers to needy people. It was a very good PI activity also.
