This is a Global grant project. It is in execution stage. We are planning to donate 100 cows to below poverty line lady farmer families from Velhe taluka. MOU has been signed with Disha Foundation - the partner NGO as well as international partner clubs. Till 25th June we have donated 51 cows in villages of Velhe taluka. We have ensured that the cows are healthy before buying them. Beneficiaries themselves have chosen the cows by accompanying NGO Disha people while purchasing. The insurance is done before delivering the cows. We have visited the beneficiary houses and made sure that they have proper Cow shades, ample of water in village, fodder available in plenty. We have also given the farmer beneficiaries a proper training regarding Cow care, what could be done with the milk etc. We have chosen villages in such a way that they have milk collection centres nearby. Outside every cow shed, in each beneficiary house, we have displayed a board of Rotary International and our club name with partner clubs. Rotarians of partner clubs visited one of the village and had great experience talking with the farmer beneficiaries and visiting their cow sheds. Very enriching and satisfying experience.
