The second phase of construction at Rachana Vidyalaya, Holkarwadi comprising of 5 classrooms commenced with support from our Main Donor, Sq. Leg Yogesh J Shah who has contributed Rs. 30 Lacs for the project. P&G Shiksha, Nyenrode New Business School, Amsterdam, Automech India along with The Sane Guruji Shikshan Sanstha also contributed significantly for the project amounting Rs. 51.3 Lacs. When we began supporting the school 3 years ago, it had only 120 students across grades 8th-10th studying in the Marathi medium section. Today we have built an additional 10 classrooms complete with the BALA concept and the school has Marathi, Semi-English & English medium sections from pre-primary onwards. Almost 400 children are now admitted and it can further accomodate an additional 300 children, comfortably in the near future. Rotary Club of Pune Sunrise, a Chapter of Round Table India, along with its donors continues to make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged and has made a significant impact on the village of Holkarwadi by providing them with an educational infrastructure. We would also like to express our thanks to Driving Force Rashmi Kanakia (a teacher by profession and the principal of Symbiosis) for her guidance in selecting the paintings which have helped us use all the walls in the school as a learning aid for the children. We would also like to Thank Area Chairman Tr. Devesh Jatia and members of Poona Round Table & RCPUNESUNRISE donors who inaugurated the school in the presence of our main donor Sq. Leg Yogesh J Shah and the school authorities. Sq. Leg Yogesh J Shah was extremely impressed with the work undertaken and is looking forward to executing larger projects with RTI going ahead.
