COVID has impacted several families and their livelihoods. Reshma Firfiray lost her husband to COVID in May 2021. She now suddenly has to support 6 children all by herself! Fortunately, she is educated and used to take Tuitions. She has now been selected for a One Year Primary Teachers Training Program at Sunderji Institute. The course also specializes in teaching specially/differently abled children. Sunderji Institute will help her find a job upon completion of this course. However, she was unable to pay the full course fees given her financial situation. We made an appeal for support to our club members. As always, the generosity of our club members helped us collect Rupees 40,000 within two days! A big thank you to Rotarian’s – Naresh Malhotra, Ashwini Malhotra, Aruna Rathi, Pinky Mehmi, Jitu Mehta, Subir Guha, Sanjay Mutha, Shailendra Abhyankar and President Asis Ray. A cheque for Rupees Forty Thousand was handed over to Sunderji Institute. We (RCPD) have also received a thank you note from the Institute appreciating our gesture. We hope this small gesture will help Reshma make a new and better beginning.
