The Rotary Club of Pune Baner has embarked on a highly valuable environmental project that is going to benefit the citizens at large in the years to come. This project, the Ghanavan dense forest is a special project for many reasons. A dense ecoforest is being cultivated at the centre of Aundh, an upmarket locality in Pune. This kind of dense forestation ensures oxygen supply to the neighbouring areas. Once this forest is grown and developed, it promises to bring in avian species, and also in preserving the bio-diversity of this zone. Out of a huge piece of land on the government Industrial Training institute premises, RCPB has taken up the development of this forest on 15000 square feet of land. The project is an ongoing one with many species of trees being planted and nurtured. the Club President himself and many Rotarians from the club and volunteers from the ITI manage and maintain the plantation with close supervision.
