*1st July... National Charted Accountants Day* July 1 is celebrated as National Chartered Accountant Day in India, as a tribute & celebration of the formation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on July 1, 1949. Today our Club – Rotary Sahawas celebrated the CA day at BMCC – Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce. A lecture titled “ Changing Dimensions of CA Profession and Restructuring of CA Course Curriculum “ was arranged in association with BMCC. Well Known CA Dr S.B. Zaware graced the function as Key Note Speaker. It was an honour for all to have CA Dr Zaware as our guest today who incidentally was born in 1949 and had become CA in 1973. Since 1973, CA Dr Zaware has tutored and nurtured more than 1000 CAs and 10000 CA aspirants. CA Dr Zaware who himself was a follower of late Manibhai Desai and stated that CA is like an IAS officer who presents true & fair presentation of financial statements. He also highlighted that CAs must repose confidence of stakeholders and maintain quality conscience of financial services. While describing CA as a finance analyst who should develop capacity to understand and analyse financial transactions , CA Dr Zaware also explained the importance of learning cycle of “ Learn –Unlearn- - Relearn” which can be used in any field. Dr Zaware described a CA , is not a clerk but a Value adding analyst. He stressed on use of common sense, which is somewhat uncommon now a days. CA is just not a accountant but should be a Doctor of financial health, a financial engineer –lawyer- architect and most importantly a Business Solution Provider. CA Dr Zaware proudly said that today 98% CAs are business solution providers and 2 % are accountants, from the condition exactly opposite in 1973 when he became CA. CA Dr Zaware, while reiterating the fact that “ Change is the need of the hour “, explained various new developments and changes in the CA exam stages – foundation – intermediate & final . He also explained about changes in marking –passing system and article-ship. He also explained the UDIN system, developed by ICAI to felicitate its members for verification/ certifications of documentation & securing transactional documents.
