Shenwad is a small village with a population of @ 350 people, mostly ladies, children and senior citizens (as most of the working male group has shifted to bigger cities for jobs). This area receives a rainfall of 4000 mm. Still it faces acute water shortage from January itself. Our club in association with NSS Unit of Sinhgad College of Engineering has been constructing Vanrai Type Bandharas in this area every year. This year also, a bandhara of 11 m length * 1.2 m ht * 0.6 m width has been constructed.
