On the occasion of International Daughters Day, the “Asmita Project” for the empowerment of daughters was hosted by the Rotary Club of Pune Bibwewadi with project partners, Rotary Club of Pune Central and Rotary Club of Poona Airport, on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at Hyatt Hotel. This project is Rotary’s biggest Daughter Empowerment Project and is spread over three states — Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa. In this project, 36,000+ girls will be empowered by video training in sexual/social media abuse, self-defence, gynaecological myths, and nutrition. All these girl students will be given sanitary pads, multivitamin tablets, iron supplements, haemoglobin check-up, and booklets giving information to improve their self-esteem. RCPC is the executive partner club for this project. RCPC was represented by President Uday Dharmadhikari, Director — Service Projects Rtn. Brig. PKM Raja, and President-Elect Rtn. Ajay Chitnis.
