A Financial Literacy Program was held via a Zoom session for the Maya CARE team on December 17, 2022, aimed at educating and discussing financial literacy with their Pan-India team. The team of 50+ consisting of employees and volunteers, both men and women, were between the ages of 20 to 55 years. Maya CARE has co-ordinators running helplines in Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. Maya CARE volunteers include college students, homemakers, working professionals, and active senior citizens who visit senior citizens in their own homes to provide services. As professionals struggle to meet the demands of an active work life, each member of the Maya CARE team has pledged to make up for their absence with integrity, responsibility, and patience. The purpose of this notable project was to educate employees and volunteers on the meaning, types, and importance of finance and introduce certain important concepts such as banking, accounting, and documentation. The program only encompassed module 1 of the training and the next modules will be introduced in the near future. The program was facilitated by the lead trainer Rtn Rajesh Yadav and Rtn. Jitendra Sandu from LET (https://letedu.in/), and Manjiri Gokhale Joshi, founder of Maya CARE (https://mayacare.org). Sunita Mali from Maya CARE co-ordinated the planning on behalf of Maya CARE.
