Project: Blood Donation Camp Venue: Weikfield Factory, Village Bakori, near Pune Date: September 2, 2015 RCPD collaborated with Ruby Hall to organize a Blood Donation Camp at Weikfield factory on 2nd September 2015. Weikfield factory has about 600 employees. The factory has about 300 women employees most of whom were on fast due to Shravan month and not inclined to donate blood. So Weikfield management arranged few employees from their other factory in Lonikand to augment number of donors. RCPD team along with Ruby Hall team of Doctors/Technicians arrived on time at 11am in the premises of Weikfield Factory. The day started with cake cutting ceremony on the birthday of Rtn Ashwini Malhotra. Weikfield management team led by Mr Ram Jadhav and the very enthusiastic Mr Yogesh Satav supported by volunteers (Sandeep, Amol, Aruin, Deepak, Nandoo and Bharat) had arranged exclusive hall near reception with proper lighting, cleanliness and ventilation to organize the camp. They supported the camp despite their engagement with other events organized on the same day. Weikfild management also organized lunch for RCPD and Ruby Hall team during the day and also arranged a factory visit for RCPD team. The donors started trickling in initially and later the camp could get steady pace of donors throughout the day without affecting the production processes at the factory. Around 15 donors also arrived by bus from Lonikand factory. The Ruby Hall team led by Dr SM Bora and Mr Shrikant Kalekar supported by their team members (Sunil Patil, Vijaylaxmi, Harsha, Suajata, Pournima, Sanjay, sudhir, Sachin and Kishore) went about their job very professionally. In all, there were 47 donors who provided blood for Ruby Hall Blood Bank and the camp closed around 4.30pm. Ruby Hall provided Juice and Biscuits to the donors and a certificate post blood donation. Rtn Pinky Mehmi brought Bananas for the donors. The RCPD team of volunteers did a great job of supporting the camp. The team included Rtn President Supriya bannerji, Rtns Yezdi Batliwala, Vikram Nabar, Aruna Rathi, Rajesh Gupta, Kirti Mehta, Sanjay Mutha, Prixhusp and spouses Vikram Mehmi, Poroochi, Kripa and Pritee. The camp ended with thanking Weikfield team and Ruby Hall team for a very successful blood donation camp.
