UNO has declared year 2023 as International year of Millet Motive was 1.Promote Millet through Rotary Platform 2.Development Urban-Rural-Tribal connect 3.Millet grower farmers upliftment 4.Promotion of our tradition 5.Create awareness about health and nutrition with the help of Millet 6.Development of taste habits among urban people with respect to millet 7.Providing right platform to the buyers and sellers of millet 8.Sustainable development of agricultural entrepreneurship among rural people 9.Support farmers with the help of Agriculture department schemes and proper felicitation and speedy disbursement 10.Inclusive development Millet Walkathon The event was well organised and scheduled on 10 th sept 2023 at 0800 am 70 People were participated from Rotary Club Pune Camp,Rotary Club of Deccan Gymkhana,Rotary Club of Chinchwad Pune,Rotary Club of Warje Pune and Rotary Club of Pradhikaran,school students,Rotractors and KVK Nandurbar farmers.. Walkathon was carried out in 40 minutes and covered distance almost 3 km From Alpa Bachat Bhavan-Sadhu Vaswani Chawk-Blue Nile Restaurent-Alpa Bachat Bhavan Various slogans were given to promote millet movement like “Amachi Yatra,millet jatra” “??? ????? ????? ????, ??????? ????? ??????”, “?????,????? ??? ??, ????? ???? ???? ???”! “????? ?? ??????, ????????? ??????” Really walkathon was amazing with full of energy,josh and giving strong message about importance of this movement to public.. Training about Millet dishes Conducted by well known millet chef Sonal Luthra Attended by Rangoonwala catering college students and symbiosis catering college students Visitors were astonished with the dishes and their recipe information Participants and judges from the millet are called Cooking with Millet Competition Participants were around 20 Everyone has prepared delicious millet dishes Awards were given Judges were Sonal Barmecha,reknown chef Rtn Shila Iyyer..Kitchen Queen Millet Buyer-seller meet Attended by 50 people different buyers and sellers Addressed by Rotarians and govt Officers Developing sustainable platform for them Cultural Festival Main attraction of the event Given platform to tribal people to perform their folk dance and folk music We must need to conserve our old Indian culture which is being diminished and promote that every corner.. Total participant were 30 women from kalsubai millet as tribal area And 8 participant from folk culture foundation they perform dance,gondhal,povada etc. Product and Food Stall Visits Product stall 33 stalls from remote part of Maharashtra are available Many Farmer Producer companies and small millet processors were the stall owners Variety of millet products were available on the stall.. Promotion of millet products and upliftment of millet growers was achieved by exhibiting these small stalls Around 3000 people have visited these stalls and turnover of every stall was around Rs 10K-15K in a single day… Food Stall Around 10 foods stalls were exhibited,providing variety of millet dishes millet Poha,Millet Idali,Millet Shira,Millet Upama,Shingoli,Millet Thalipeeth,Millet Pizza,Solapuri Jowari kadak bhakari,Millet cakes and millet laddus.. The dishes were delicious and serve at very reasonable cost.. Every people visited the exhibition enjoyed lot.. Main Inauguration The inaugeration was done by Mrs Nandatai Bhujbal,a women farmer cum small processor of Pulses and Millets This is the real honour of the farmer of our country and this Inauguration is assisted by PDG Rtn Pankaj Shah,Agriculture director Mr Vikas Patil,Agriculture Joint Director Mr Rafiq Naikawadi,District Agriculture Officer Mr Sanjay Kachole and all Presidents of Rotary Clubs of District 3131
