1)STANDARD 8TH STUDENTS WERE MADE MEMBERS OF THE CLUB 2) Election for choosing President, Secretary and Treasurer was conducted 2) LECTURE ON AWARENESS OF ENVIRONMENT by PP Sandeep Vilekar The first meeting of Eco Club "Sadaphuli" of Rotary Club of Pune South was held on 10th July 23 at Dr. Vasantdada Patil High school. The children of standard 8th , who are freshly admitted to the high school, were made members of the club, as our idea is " catch them young ". Customary to Rotary tradition the meeting started with the recital of our National Anthem. Ann. Asmita Apte told the children about the history of Eco club Sadaphuli. Director Rtn. Sandeep Vilekar addressed them and told them why the environment has to be protected and what was expected of them. Election for choosing the President, Secretary and Treasurer was held. The children were very enthusiastic and many wanted to contest. Finally the most voted were selected and declared. They were given an idea about their responsibilities. Ann. Asmita administered the oath for conservation of the environment " Paryavaran Pratidnya". It was decided to hold all meetings henceforth on Wednesdays and the meeting was adjourned.
